The First UK –CHINA Media and Cultural Studies Association Conference 2015

 

Chinese Media and Cultural Studies: Consumption, Content and Crisis.

This event is held by the UK-China Media and Cultural Studies Association (UCMECSA) that aims to provide a platform for the communication of the Chinese media and culture researchers in Britain, and to discuss the cultural diversity between the Western countries and China in order to prevent any possible misunderstanding and achieve the ability to communicate in a much better way.

The event is designed to facilitate the opportunity for Chinese media and cultural studies and cross-culture comparison dialogue between UK and China, particularly in the spheres of media, cultural studies, communication, arts, politics, and other social sciences. We therefore particularly welcome papers that address (but are not limited to) the following:

 

  1. Cultural and media comparison between the west and the orient
  2. Chinese journalism and media studies
  3. Chinese popular cultural studies
  4. China’s politics studies
  5. Chinese Migration issues

Confirmed keynote speaker is Prof. Richard Sambrook.

Please submit a Word document containing your paper title, a 250-word abstract, and author information including full name, institutional affiliation, email address, and a 50-word bio by 10th January 2015. A maximum of 30 minutes will be allocated to each conference paper (20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for questions). Panel proposals (three presenters – 90 minutes) should include a 150-word overview and 250 word individual abstracts (plus author information listed above). Notifications regarding acceptance will be sent by January 30th 2015.
